Hey everyone! Time for an update from my desk... I have many things to let you know and you don't want to miss out. I'm all refreshed from my Cuban vacation so let's get started....

Wow, I've been working and writing way too much this winter and the blog has felt the effects. So sorry, but now.....It's almost here! Release day for Forbidden Empath at Cobblestone Press! Here's a little teaser for you.

He sat next to her on the sofa, his broad hand falling over hers on the soft fabric of the sofa. He was warm, and deep inside she felt the stirring of something primal. Joanna was not inexperienced with men. She did, however, keep her dalliances close to home. She’d slept with men who began as her close friends, never with a stranger and never as soon after meeting them as she wished of Micah. But, and there was always a but in these situations, this was not her life. Someone else belonged here with him and even though the very thought turned her enviously green inside, she knew this place, at the side of Micah Brittan, Senior Empath of the United Nations, was not hers. Maybe in another lifetime, another place, but right at this time, she wanted nothing more than her own home and her little town where she was comfortable.
She’d been staring at the back of his hand when his fingers curled under her palm. She sucked in her breath.

The countdown is on.... Gypsy Afterglow releases from Whiskey Creek Press Torrid on January 15th!! This is my first full-length novel in e-book form and I just know you'll all love it! Also to report, we lost our beautiful dog on Thanksgiving weekend. She was almost 13 but was succumbing to cancer very quickly. We miss her greatly but the whole family is looking forward to our "new baby" who we can bring home just before Christmas. She's a purebred Golden Retriever and if she's as loving and loyal as her parents, she'll be a great addition. I'll post pictures when I have them. We're going to visit her in a few weeks as right now, she's only two weeks old and not much for the kids to play with. yay!

It's going to be a blast with great workshops, an editor appointment with Brenda Chin of Harleqin and a party in the lounge of the Sheraton hotel!

In other news, Gypsy Afterglow will be released this January by Whiskey Creek Press Torrid! This one will go to print if enough readers buy it, so start saving your money. I can't wait for the cover. That, of course, is my favourite part. So, how is your week starting out?

Just for fun! From Gypsy Afterglow.

I blinked. No, it couldn’t be. Not here. Yet, my eyes would recognize his beautiful face anywhere. The blood rushed in my ears and I thought for a moment my heart might just stop. It was beating erratically enough.
Marco Kaldera. My lips formed his name as I stared. Older, tall, with sinewy muscles and cropped dark hair, but it was definitely him.
I forced myself to inhale so I wouldn’t topple over. When my heart began to beat normally again, I was able to get a better look at him by leaning forward over the table.
The waiter arrived with steaming coffee, which I almost spilled all over the two of us in my rush to appear as if I weren’t lost in my stalking.
“Sorry,” I said, anxious to have him on his way again. He smiled indulgently but I saw him send me a curious glance as he walked away.
Coffee forgotten, I glanced back to where Marco sat. Every nerve in my body came alive and it felt just as intense as when I was eighteen. Someone must have been watching over me for there were no women in the group. Even though I’d been the one to leave, I don’t think I could have handled seeing Marco with another woman. He’d said I’d always be in his life and quite selfishly, I believed him. I wanted him to have waited for me all of these years despite the fact that I could have been happily married with two point five children. That was my fantasy.

It's a long wait for Gypsy Afterglow coming from Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. I'll pass the time by giving you glimpses into the ancient and deeply traditional world of Brynn and Marco. Here's a bit from the first chapter (unedited).

"Sitting on my grandmother’s back step, I could hear the quick, staccato sounds of the flamenco music they played for passers-by. I didn’t then and still don’t know how to dance like that, but at the time, knowing I was alone, my toes flew in an unorganized pattern on the dried grass.
The day that I crossed the river will forever be with me, partly because I’ve chosen to embroider it on my heart and partly because it was a day that opened my eyes to a different culture and to a certain mystical, handsome boy who grew to be a powerfully sensual man. If a gypsy oracle had told me back then how things would turn out, well…no. I’d do it all over again in an instant. It made me who I am today."

Thanks to everyone for standing by while I've worked out my computer issues. I now have a brand spankin' new laptop which I love. Now I just have to find a cheap version of Microsoft Word to put on it. Getting there...

Soooo frustrating!

Okay, so I have been unable to access my website for a couple weeks now and I'm waiting for my host to get back to me. Utterly impossible. Add to this my computer crash and I'm not having a good week to say the least.

However, when I can access my website again, I'll have some new and exciting changes. Hope you're as excited as I am! Now, lets all cross our fingers....

I'm waiting on three submissions at Samhain Publishing and Whiskey Creek Press, so with any luck, I'll have some new, full-length books soon. Again, lets all cross our fingers. The rest of my submissions will have to wait because do you think I backed up the latest versions.........?

The full moon, a perfectly formed shining orb hanging in a velvety blackness, tinted the pines with silver and the lake with shimmering magic. I only wish, she thought as she watched the graceful movements of this man. He couldn’t be human, not with all that muscle, not with those perfectly blue almond-shaped eyes. She moved closer to him. The dark shadow of whiskers was so tempting. She reached out to brush her fingers along his jaw.
“I am no nymph and I can do you no harm, but I could have been,” she teased. “Why were you watching me? It’s past the midnight hour. Shouldn’t you be indulging in some human woman as the gods usually do on beautiful nights such as this?”
The man narrowed his eyes. “The gods?”

Also, I have been tagged for the first time ever thanks to fellow Cobblestone writer Michelle. So, here are 6 things about me....

1) I don't think I could live without water being somewhere on my property. I've lived in three different places in my life, all chosen because of the water.

2) I am the biggest fan of Karen Marie Moning and am so thrilled her Fever series is possibly becoming a movie! Do you know how hard that wait is going to be?

3) My kids are my life!

4) I can't think of anything I'd rather do in life than write. Even if I never make a cent at it, I'll always write.

5) I can't stand the smell of windshield washer fluid.

6) I'm pretty sure of my former lives. I lived in medieval times and also somewhere in the Caribbean. Wish I could live there now.
